Former Premier League star, Nolberto Solano has been arrested for allegedly attending a party during self-isolation lockdown in Peru.
The retired Peruvian professional, 45, who played for Newcastle United was reportedly caught at a party in the Peruvian district of La Molina in breach of the social isolation rules imposed on the region.
Peruvian outlet Libero reported that police officers arrested Solano during a raid at a property in La Molina containing Solano and five others on Thursday.
The former midfielder who enjoyed two spells at Newcastle during his 19-year career, was taken to a local police station, where he was interrogated and later released by the authorities.
He spoke to the media about the incident saying: ‘It was a meeting, not a party, look how I’m dressed. Everyone complains,’
Peru is currently on lockdown in a bid to contain the spread of the deadly coronavirus. The country has 580 reported cases and nine deaths from the disease.
