Nigerian rapper turned activist, Rugged Man has questioned the Nigerian government’s swiftness in sharing 5.2 billion naira conditional cash transfer as relief for the coronavirus lockdown.
A few days ago, the federal government announced that it had commenced the sharing of N20,000 to 1 million Nigerian households under the National Social Investment Programme, SIP.
However, not up to three days later, it also said that the money has successfully been shared amongst the poorest Nigerians.
This news did not sit well with Rugged Man who wondered how they were able to share a total of 5.2bn in 72 hours whereas millions of voter cards which have been the possession of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC couldn’t be distributed to every eligible voter within two years.
He wrote: “*A Government that cannot finish sharing over 7 million Voter Cards in two years but shared ₦5.2bn in 72 hours for poor people…*
*Are we not serving a miracle working God?* ”
