As much as it comes as a thing of pride for the people of the United States, not everyone is of the opinion that US President Trump deserves his Nobel Peace Prize nomination.
The United States president has been reportedly nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to broker diplomatic ties between Israel and the United Arab Emirates.
Fox News reported that Trump was nominated by Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a member of the Norwegian Parliament. “For his merit, I think he has done more trying to create peace between nations than most other Peace Prize nominees,” Tybring-Gjedde told Fox.
Tybring-Gjedde, who is a four-term member of Parliament who also serves as chairman of the Norwegian delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, said the Trump administration played a key role in the establishment of relations between The UAE and Israel.
Israel and the UAE declared there would be peace between the two nations last month, with Israeli President Reuven Rivlin inviting the leader of the United Arab Emirates to visit Jerusalem.
It can be recalled that President Trump took to Twitter last month to celebrate the peace agreement he was involved in brokering between the two nations. He tweeted:
“HUGE breakthrough today! Historic Peace Agreement between our two GREAT friends, Israel and the United Arab Emirates!”
Also, in speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, President Trump said that the agreement was “a truly historic moment”.”Now that the ice has been broken I expect more Arab and Muslim countries will follow the United Arab Emirates,” he said.
