Euro 2016 Best XI
The day after Euro 2016 finished, the official team of the competition has been revealed.
There were three Premier League players in the eleven.
After helping Wales reach the semifinals, where they were beaten by Portugal, Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen made the cut in a holding role in the middle of the pitch.
Sticking with Wales, Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey, who missed the semifinal through suspension, was also handed a starting berth in the XI.
Incredibly, Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale was omitted for the team, despite the fact he scored three goals at the competition for the Dragons.
The final Premier League based player in the team was West Ham playmaker Dimitri Payet, who started the competition like a house of fire for Les Bleus.
Cristiano Ronaldo & his Portugal team mates
In total, four Portugal players made the cut.
Cristiano Ronaldo was the main striker in the team, while at the other end of the pitch, Rui Patricio, Pepe and Raphaël Guerreiro.
Antoine Greizmann was also in the team: indeed he was voted the player of the tournament.
The final slots went to three German men: Joshua Kimmich, Jerome Boateng and Toni Kroos.
