Eleven men and women were subjected to public flogging in Indonesia for commiting crimes ranging from gambling to adultery.
The beatings occurred in Banda Aceh – the only province in the country which implements Sharia law in full. Those who committed the ‘crimes’ were forced to take a cane across their back were hit more between 10 to 29 times by a masked enforcer.
