Cross River State Governor, Prof. Ben Ayade has ordered political appointees in the state to immediately start to patronise
clothes made in the Calabar Garment Factory.
Speaking on Thursday shortly after being presented with samples of finished products from the Calabar Garment Factory,
the Cross River State Governor, Prof. Ben Ayade, ordered his political appointees to immediately start to patronise clothes made in the state.
According to Punch, the first roll-out from the factory has hit the market with the production of blazers, jeans, shirts as well as
some paramilitary outfits which are economically viable.
Gov. Ayade said that as from June 2017, he would not be wearing clothes not made from the factory, explaining that, “the earment factory today is a reality and its
now producing in commercial quantities for export too.”
He said, “Henceforth, starting from today, all executive members, all appointees must be in clothes made from Calabar Garment
Factory and this is official. By the close of next month, anything I put on my body will
be made from the Cross River Garment
Factory.
