Country Director, Dynamiss, Mr. Lolu Elegbe has said the nation’s technology and digital knowledge gap can be bridged with the advent of its new application built in partnership with Microsoft.
Mr Elegbe made this disclosure on the sideline of its application launch in partnership with Microsoft, LP+365, an interactive virtual learning portal, in Lagos.
According to him, “Part of our issues in Nigeria is that we are still far behind in terms of technology and digital knowledge. So what we are trying to do is to bridge that gap between where we are and where we need to be as a country from a digital point of view.”
He said that the application teaches students from a young age, as early as five all the way into the university. Adding that,
“We are trying to make sure that the ones in the university that are about to go into the job market, have that digital skill that they need and we are trying to make sure that the younger ones grow up with these skills.
“We are trying to make sure that they have that skill from their early age and it follows them up all the way through,” he said.
Commenting on the involvement of federal government to the project, he said that,
“We are dealing with this in two ways. Our target market at the moment is the private schools, and the reason for that is that we understand that government with the best of intentions doesn’t move as quickly as we would want.
“We are doing this with the private schools and we are also having dialogue conversation with the state government and also contact with the federal government, ministry of education as well.
“The one on the government side is a lot slower but we can’t let that stop us. So we are continuing with the private schools and then when we get to where we need to get to from the government side as well.”
He noted that,
“We are selling the software to schools at a discounted rate with Microsoft support because the application is built on a Microsoft platform which transforms Word, Excel, Power Point, One Note and every other package we use in our day-to-day activities into our school virtual classroom.
What Microsoft is also doing is that it is adding its imagined academy to become part of our offerings. So anybody who uses this application gets free access to the imagined academy which is Microsoft repository of all their training certification,” Elegbe said.
