LIONEL MESSI has signed a new contract at Barcelona.
The Argentine star will put pen to paper on a deal that said to be worth £500,000-a-week that will see him stay at the Nou Camp until at least 2021.
Messi, 30, married long-term girlfriend Antonella Roccuzzo in Argentina last week and has agreed to sign a new contract when he returned.
His contract is said to include a release clause worth a staggering £264MILLION, as Barcelona confirmed the deal is done and will be finalised in the coming weeks.
Messi will formally sign the contract when he returns from his honeymoon in Antigua and Barbuda next week.
Manchester City had been linked with a move for the star forward since January – which would have seen Messi team up with former boss Pep Guardiola.
But City transfer mogul Ferran Soriano, himself a Barcelona disciple, gave up on a move weeks ago.
He said: “No. I don’t think so.
“I know Messi very well. He and his family are my good friends.
“At least next year, maybe he can finish that career. After that he can go to China or US, but now I think he will stay in Barcelona.”
