NIKE have released a pair of limited edition golden boots to celebrate Francesco Totti’s 25th anniversary with Roma.
The ‘King of Rome’ has spent his entire professional career with the Italian giants earning a legendary status amongst the people of his boyhood city.
Totti joined the Serie A side in 1989 but it wasn’t until 1992 that the 40-year-old made his professional debut with the club.
And the Nike Tiempo Totti X Roma boot commemorates everything that the veteran has achieved with Roma including having his name stitched across the heel.
The gold colour was picked in honour of Totti’s achievements winning both the Serie A title and the World Cup.
And speaking to Roma’s official site, he said: “When I thought about a boot that could reflect 25 years of my career, I immediately thought of gold.
“This boot had to encapsulate all my values – my family, AS Roma and the city of Rome.”
Totti will wear the boots, if fit, for the ‘Derby della Capitale’ against Lazio on April 30.
He added: “Im honoured to wear them but, above all, to be able to make them available to the fans was more important.
“They will be available as a limited edition of just 2,500 pairs – 100 pairs created for every year of my club career.”
The upper boot features the names of his three children – Cristian, Chanel and Isabel – in his own handwriting.
