According to multiple outlets in the English press this evening, Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain are preparing a mammoth offer of £80 million for Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez.
Saga
Chilean superstar Sanchez has been linked with an Emirates exit all summer long, with the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and PSG all having expressed an interest in his signature.
Despite rumours that Sanchez is in fact keen on a transfer to a club where he can compete for major European honours on a yearly basis, Arsenal have remained adamant thoughout the saga that their crown jewel will not be sold for any price.
Bid incoming
Nevertheless, according to the Independent, along with multiple other sources, PSG are ready to make an offer to Arsenal that they can’t refuse.
Despite Sanchez having just a solitary year remaining on his contract in North London, the Ligue 1 giants are preparing a staggering £80 million bid for the Chilean, to ensure they are not beaten to the punch by the likes of Manchester City.
It remains to be seen whether such a substantial offer would change the stance of Arsene Wenger and co., though it seems unlikely that the club could justify rejecting £80 million for a player they will likely otherwise lose for nothing next summer.
