But Ronaldo could also be set to watch from the sideline if he is cautioned when Real face relegation candidates Sporting next weekend.
All cards are wiped after that fixture, meaning Ronaldo will have to be on his best behaviour if he’s included in Zinedine Zidane’s starting XI.
But the game is sandwiched between two Champions League legs against Bayern Munich, meaning that Ronaldo could get a rest.
However, with just three points separating Real and Barca, Zidane is sure to field his strongest-possible line-up in order to avoid any slips.
The loss of Neymar in the star-studded Clasico will be felt, with the 25-year-old helping himself to 15 goals and 18 assists in all competitions this season.
But Ronaldo’s absence would arguably have more of an impact, with the Portuguese ace Real’s top scorer in La Liga.
