How Union University Nursing student Huyen Thi Thanh death Happened
A 25-year-old student at Union University was found dead in her on-campus apartment Wednesday.
Huyen Thi Thanh Hunyh was a senior nursing major from Mt. Juliet, according to a news release from Associate VP for University Communications Tim Ellsworth. Police do not suspect foul play, according to the release.
“It hurts deeply because we care about each other, and Huyen was a part of us with hopes and dreams for the future like we all have,” Union University President Samuel W. Oliver said in a statement Wednesday.
Oliver encouraged students to reach out to faculty members, counselors and ministers for support and assistance in the coming days.
“Losing a student is one of the saddest events that a close-knit campus community like Union can experience,” Oliver stated, asking members of the Union University community to pray for Hunyh’s loved ones.
