Venus Williams couldn’t hold back tears on Monday at a press conference when she was asked about the fatal car crash she’s being held responsible for.
Williams, 37, is under investigation after police ruled her at fault for the car crash that killed 78-year-old Jerome Barson near her Florida residence early June.
It was the first time she was speaking publicly since it emerged that she was being sued by the family of Barson and she initially swerved questions alluding to the tragic accident before eventually, she addressed them, saying: “There are no words to describe how devastating…I’m completely speechless.”
The tennis super star was doing a presser after her opening match win at Wimbledon, and when someone asked her about her car crash last month that left an elderly man dead … she got very emotional and could not continue speaking.
As reported, Venus is being sued for wrongful death after being found at fault for causing a car accident that left a 78-year-old man dead.
