This Saturday night, a labourer was killed after a Keystone Bank building at Palmgroove collapsed in Lagos.
The storey building located along Ikorodu Road, was said to be undergoing renovation when it caved in. It was learnt that incident occurred around 7:20pm.
At the time of this report, officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Police, Lagos State Building Control Agency (LABSCA) and fire service have been deployed to the scene to extricate the deceased labourer and cordon the premises.
Upon arrival at the above captioned scene, it was discovered that a 3 storey building belonging to Keystone Bank collapsed while being renovated.
It was reported that a single male labourer, identified as Ezekiel Ajibola, aged 35 years lost his life from the incident.
LRT, LASG fire and Police were at the scene and concluded joint efforts to retrieve the remains of the victim which were handed over to officers of the Pedro Police Station.
Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu DG/CEO LASEMA, in his statement said that: ‘The area has been cordoned off to prevent any secondary incident. Recovery operation completed.’
