Blue print reported that High Court sitting in Owerri, Tuesday served the 10 Imo lawmakers who defected from the People’s Democratic Party(PDP)
to the All Progressives Congress(APC) a few hours after the January 14 declaration of Senator Hope Uzodinma as the authentic winner of the 2019 Governorship election in Imo State by the Supreme Court.
The court bailif was seen at the Ojukwu Centre( the temporary abode of Imo lawmakers due to the rehabilitation of the main Assembly complex) a heap of papers, going to the offices of the affected lawmakers and handing them over their papers.
With this development, the PDP at the national level has finally carried out it’s threat of instituting a court process to declare the seats of the affected lawmakers vacant in a bid to elect new lawmakers of PDP extraction into the house to occupy the vacant seats.
The service of the court papers sent cold shivers down the spines of some of the aides of the affected lawmakers who tried to evade service by directing the court bailif to other offices not meant to be served, so that eventually they would claim that they were not served by the court.
