Feared terrorist group, ISIS has claimed responsibility for the deadly attack on a Sikh religious complex in the Afghanistan capital of Kabul, which claimed the lives no fewer than 25 people.
The Afghan Ministry of Interior said that the siege on Wednesday which lasted over an hour-long was claimed by ISIS after Taliban armed group denied responsibility for the attack which also witnessed the wounding of eight others.
Raju Singh Sonny, a local who witnessed that attack said that a man dressed in a police uniform rushed into the temple in central Kabul, shot a guard and started attacking worshippers in the main hall.
“Several other attackers also entered the building and they were going from room to room shooting people,” Sonny said.
According to interior ministry spokesman, Tariq Arian, the attack by the terrorists was later quelled when security forces engaged the terrorists in a gun battle and all attackers were killed.
