Jigawa state government has announced a lockdown in Kazaure local Council, just after the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed a second Coronavirus case in the state.
Recall that the NCDC disclosed that one case which was previously reported in Kano, was transferred to Jigawa State.
Governor Badaru Abubakar confirmed the new case at a press briefing in Dutse, and he disclosed that the lockdown will be effective from Monday midnight.
Essential service providers are exempted from the lockdown, and grains will be distributed to the affected local government. Abubakar urged people of the state to be vigilant and alert in the area to avoid a spread of the virus.
