Ghana has been reported to have recorded roughly 9,000 unwanted pregnancies during the period of the partial lockdown which was implemented to curb the spread of COVID-19.
In a news report sighted by YEN.com.ghon the official website of popular Ghanaian traditional radio, Happy FM, it is indicated that the Executive Director of the National Population Council, Dr Leticia Adelaide Appiah confirmed the figures in a TV interview.
According to Dr Leticia Adelaide Appiah, unwanted pregnancies are always occurring in the country but the lockdown increased the number of pregnancies in Ghana significantly within the last 3 weeks.
