Following the outbreak of Covid-19, the federal government had earlier declared the closure of churches to help curtail its spread, but this has gotten many christians complaining as worship centres have been shut down for months.
The government are blameless in this owing to the fact that they are actually interested in the safety of it’s citizens as Covid-19 cases are on persistent increase. This is why churches have been shut down until now.
However, the Catholic Church and Pentecostal Churches are among the major worship centres that has been shutdown at the moment. Hence, Catholic and Pentecostal Churches, being among the most popular churches in Nigeria, should take note of the following:
1. Catholic and Pentecostal Churches, including other worship centres should note that Boss Mustapha, secretary to the government of the federation and chairman of the PTF has announced that President Muhammadu Buhari had approved the relaxation of the ban on worship centres for four weeks, spanning 2nd – 29th June, 2020. In order words, worship centres can reopen within this month (June). It was among the recommendations submitted by the Presidential Task Force (PTF) which was approved by President Buhari.
2. They should keep on praying for total relaxation of the ban on worship centres so that it will no longer be limited to 4 weeks only.
What do you have to say on President Buhari’s approval amid Covid-19? Has he done well?
