Oluwakemi Odugbesan, a 41-year-old woman, was murdered by alleged armed robbers in the Oduntan area of Ketu, Lagos.
Her attackers allegedly stabbed her several times about 6 a.m. on April 10, which also happened to be her husband’s birthday.
The woman was reportedly returning from a vigil when her assailants stabbed her several times in the chest and rib regions in an effort to take her phone and handbag.
According to sources, the deceased, her husband, and three children were planning to move to Canada a few weeks before her untimely death.
The case has been transferred to the homicide division of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for discreet investigation, according to a spokesman for the Lagos Police Command, Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
