BluePrint reported that barely 48 hours after Enugu state government announced arrival of suspected coronavirus patient in the cool city, the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said it has swung into action.
NCDC while giving update on the earlier reported COVID-19 via a tweet,
Sunday, said the patient has been quarantined ahead of expected result on Monday.
According to the statement, “The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control is aware of the patient in Enugu, suspected to have COVID19′
“This is one of several alerts received daily at the National COVID19 Emergency Operations Centre”.
“The patient is in isolation, sample collected and results expected tomorrow.”
Enugu state government had revealed that the patient (name withheld) came in from the United Kingdom last Wednesday , where over 20 people have been confirmed dead as a result of the killer disease.
