The Supreme Court is expected to rule on the motion by the All Progressive Congress (APC) praying it to review its ruling on the 2019 elections in Zamfara State.
Ahead of the ruling, there are palpable fears in the camp of both the APC and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over what will be the outcome.
The Supreme Court had in an earlier ruling, sacked all candidates of the APC, who won different electoral positions in the state during the 2019 general elections.
The court had disqualified all the APC candidates, for the governorship, federal and state legislative elections, on the grounds that the party failed to conduct primaries in the state.
Following that ruling, PDP candidates, became beneficiaries of all the elective positions.
However, the APC faction in the state, led by the state’s former governor, Abdulaziz Yari returned to the apex court praying it to review its earlier ruling.
When the matter finally came up in the court on March 17, a five-man panel of the court, led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria be(CJN), Justice Tanko Muhammad, after hearing the matter reserved its ruling.
The panel announced that a date for the ruling would be communicated to parties.
The PDP and the APC have been in a war words following the decision of the apex court to reserve ruling on the case.
