Every relationship is special in its own way.
While you may have already moved on from your previous love-affairs to the next, there is always that one thing that leaves an imprint on your soul.
Therefore, it is nothing but natural to make comparisons between the kinds of relationships you have had in the past and the one you have currently.
Not to say that you’ll always find something missing in your relationship. But that does not mean you do not love your partner or are giving up on them.
It is just the good moments that you spent with your ex that tends to kick in and rekindles your memory.
Is it okay to miss an ex?
Sure, it is okay to miss your ex and relive the memories you shared with them. Until and unless it does not strain your current relationship and makes your partner suspect you, there is nothing unhealthy about thinking about your ex. That being said, here are some of the reasons that might make you miss your partner but it is nothing serious.
1. You share some great memories together
While everything wasn’t a bed of roses for you and your ex-lover, surely you two shared a bond that has great memories tied to them. That being said, it is normal to relive those memories and miss your ex for a while. However, one should be able to understand that it is just the memories that you miss and do not make decisions based on them.
2. You knew the ins and out of each other
During a course of a long term relationship, there is a deep sense of comfortability that develops between two people. You learn about one another and unveil and lot of different emotions. And while all these emotions ceases to exist now, you miss it even more, even when you are committed to another person.
3. Everything wasn’t bad and you miss the good things
You relationship might have taken a rough course but that does not mean everything was bad. There are things that are always worth cherishing and that is what you miss the most even after moving on.
4. You sometimes reminisce the person you were with them
Just like how every relationship is different, every individual becomes someone else in the kind of relationships they are in. While you may have been an adventurous soul in your previous relationship, you might now be more submissive and accommodating in the current relationship. That being said, there will always be a time where you miss the ‘self’ you were with your ex.
5. You long for the things that were there in the past, but missing in your present relationship
Every individual has the habit of making comparisons between the kinds of relationships he/she has had. While there may be an abundance of things you are grateful for in your current relationship, there will always be something you long for from your past relationship, especially when it’s missing in your present relationship. This is probably why you miss your ex and the things he/she did for you.
